In a recent Professional Surveyor article, Todd Stennett and Sandra Wade-Grusky explore and debunk the myths surrounding LiDAR.
The biggest myth is that the myriad benefits of the technology make it much more expensive. Actually, studies have shown that LiDAR requires only 25 to 33 percent of the budget needed for photogrammetric compilation, possibly due to project delays caused by less-than-ideal environmental conditions or by the time-consuming, expensive processes required by traditional photogrammetry. With all the benefits and cost savings, the serious surveyor can't afford to not use aerial lidar.

MIDWEST FLOOD DISCOUNT

The Midwest is currently suffering from the perfect storm of calamity: as rain continues to fall, the levees start to break, and residents in floodplain areas are evacuated, the Red Cross is running out of money. Airborne 1 recognizes the need for up-to-date maps in the Midwest and, accordingly, is offering a special discount to photogrammetry, surveying and engineering firms in impacted flood areas.
In addition, we will donate a percentage from these projects to the Red Cross.
